Continuous Improvement is one of the three main operational pillars that support our effort to innovate and deliver superior value to customers.
ALCOM's continuous improvement methodology is an integrated approach that combines the complementary strengths of Lean Six Sigma and Total Productive Maintenance. Both are proven process improvement methodologies widely used in the manufacturing environment.
The choice of project methodology and tools depend very much on the nature of the problem or opportunity to be tackled. Continuous improvement project proposals are developed by listening to the voices of business, customers, processes and employees. Proposals are added to a CI Project Hopper, classified based on the appropriate methodology, and prioritized for execution.
The Continuous Improvement Council meets regularly to review progress on existing projects and to launch new ones. Having an integrated process for selecting, prioritizing and executing CI projects helps the business to focus on high value projects, and ensure that appropriate resources and tools are deployed to maximize results while minimizing project leadtime.
